NativeGrind troubleshooting
Most problems have a quick fix. Start with the one that matches what you're seeing.
The grid is empty or asks for a location
Browse needs a location. Tap the location button at the top of the grid and choose a place, use your current location, or enter coordinates.
I can't sign in
- Check your email and password, and try the same details in the official app.
- Google sign-in isn't on Apple TV, and Facebook sign-in is only on iPhone and iPad. Use Advanced Login to sign in with Google or Apple on any device.
- If Advanced Login doesn't work, get a fresh token or code. Apple codes only work once and expire after 5 minutes.
- If your account has been restricted by the service, NativeGrind can't sign in to it either.
Photos or videos won't load
Media links from the service expire after a while. Pull down to refresh the chat or inbox. In the NativeServer edition, backed-up media still opens after the link expires.
Uploading a photo, video or voice note fails
The first upload registers a signing key for your device, which can take a moment. Check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, sign out and back in.
Messages aren't arriving live
NativeGrind reconnects on its own when the connection drops. Pull down to refresh, or close and reopen the chat.
NativeServer won't connect or sync
- Make sure you're running the NativeGrind (NS) scheme and have accepted the current terms.
- Check Settings › NS Account shows your account as Active.
- If a new device won't link, wait for a fresh code and try again straight away.
Xcode shows a signing error
- Choose your team under Signing & Capabilities for the NativeGrind target.
- If Xcode says the bundle identifier isn't available, change it to something unique, such as com.yourname.NativeGrind.
- With a free account, apps stop opening after 7 days. Run it from Xcode again to renew it.
